ROME INTERNATIONAL ART FAIR 2024 - 10TH EDITION
May 24 - June 06, 2024
Medina Art Gallery, Rome

ITSLIQUID Group is pleased to announce the opening of the 10th edition of ROME INTERNATIONAL ART FAIR 2024, international exhibition of photography, painting, video art, installation/sculpture and performance art, on May 24, 2024, at 06:00 PM at Medina Art Gallery, in Rome. The exhibition will run until June 6, 2024.
ROME INTERNATIONAL ART FAIR 2024 analyzes the relationship between body and space, and the hybridization between identities and cultural/physical/social/urban settings in contemporary times, through two main sections: MIXING IDENTITIES and FUTURE LANDSCAPES.
MIXING IDENTITIES analyzes the hidden parts of our identities, through an immersive experience inside the fascinating universe of the complex labyrinths of our consciousness. The human body is a changing system that connects us with other bodies and spaces to perceive the surrounding reality; a strong communication system with its own language and infinite ways of expression.
FUTURE LANDSCAPES are abstract, infinite and conceptual, associated with a sense of freedom and infinite extension. Primarily experienced with the mind, spaces redefine their limits and borders, transforming surfaces in an open flow of pure ideas. This section focuses on the concept of the borders and the structures between body, mind and soul, the human identity and the city, the space and the ground.
Inviting viewers to embrace their fluidity, Marina Budimir explores the theme of MIXING IDENTITIES, celebrating the diversity of human expression. The artist showcases her journey from the historic city of Zagreb to the broad canvas of wearable art and delicate fabric paintings: through her artworks, she captures the vibrant interplay of colors as a celebration of life, transcending the traditional and merging different tools. Employing the same creative poetry of blending instruments, Maria Gedroc invites viewers into her “Giardino Fiorito” through mixed media artworks, examining the themes of personal space and spirituality, often manifested through architectural and natural elements.
Yuting Chen conveys the theme of MIXING IDENTITIES by using programming languages to transform data into dynamic visual representations that delve into human emotions and philosophical reflections, exploring the resilience of migrant journeys and the interplay of language and perception. Hailing from Switzerland, the photographer Giuseppe Giannotti utilizes his background in journalism to capture these narratives through his images, which serve as a deep dive into the stories of his subjects, conveyed with a compelling narrative style that highlights his investigative roots.
Working with the same tool but with different results, photographers Preeti & Prashant Chacko explore the theme of FUTURE LANDSCAPES with their focus on the dignity and grace of wild animals through black and white photography. Their distinct perspectives frame the emotional depth of wildlife, capturing moments of beauty and drama that speak to both individual and shared experiences with nature. The core of this theme lies in its focus on the boundaries between various dichotomies: body and mind, soul and identity, urbanity and nature, as shown by the artist Alice Vanni. She incorporates unpublished poems within her paintings, subtly hidden within the brushstrokes: her work reflects a profound connection to culture, travel, sustainability, and nature.
Through visionary explorations, artists find a way to work on the cusp of these two themes: among them, Julia Szeder transitions, employing the impasto technique with paint knives to introduce abstract elements into her works, inviting viewers to explore both grand vistas and intricate details. Another brilliant contribution was provided by the video artwork of Hu Chia who blends the ancient Monkey-Crane Double Form Chuan Qigong with modern dance, expressing the resilience and vulnerability of life. His works, as a dance against fate, pursue love and freedom, showcasing them through performances that have touched audiences across over twenty countries. ROME INTERNATIONAL ART FAIR 2024 will be enriched by a great selection of video artworks (see https://drive.google.com/file/d/1L3jphDAAYxGxG8JxX6s3iEEUOG2gFD9P/view?usp=sharing).
